08/01/12 Graham Dean to have major retrospective at Williamson Art Gallery

Dean uses the paint at its most fluid, producing luscious effects that allow the colours to puddle and flow on its hand-made Indian paper. The scale, unusual for the medium, gives the bold shapes and vivid colours room to breathe amongst the textures. Included in this exhibition are works related specifically to 2012 and the sports agenda created by the Olympics.

Graham Dean was born in 1951 and attended the Laird School of Art in the town before moving away and creating the international career he now enjoys. His last exhibition at the Williamson was The Green Room in 1995 and we are pleased now to celebrate his 60th year with an exhibition of recent work.

Date (of show): 28th January – 26th February
